The Beginning
It all started in 1958 with Mark LeGrand opening LeGrand the Florist at the age of 19 as the youngest licensed florist in Louisiana. For almost 60 years LeGrand the Florist was located at 537 Huey P. Long Avenue in Gretna, LA and served generations with beautifully and artfully arranged flowers to fit any occasion. LeGrand’s floral arrangements are known for their elegance, grandeur, and style. Weddings, showers, rehearsal dinners, and corporate events were a specialty.
Fast Forward to 2018
Over the years, LeGrand the Florist touched the lives of so many people with flowers and customer service unmatched through generations. On January 2, 2018, LeGrand the Florist suffered a catastrophic loss as the florist completely burned to the ground. The Gretna Community lost something very special on that day.
A New Era Begins
In 2019, the LeGrand tradition continues with a second generation when Mark LeGrand’s youngest daughter, Lisa LeGrand Witter, opened LeGrand Weddings & Events By Lisa. Surrounded by the floral industry her entire life, it is evident that her love of flowers began at birth. Lisa’s vast experience and knowledge of the floral industry runs the gamut from wedding prep work of taping wires to designing grand scale wedding arrangements and events. She worked at the florist throughout her life and floral designing is her passion. Throughout the years she always gravitated to weddings and dreamed to lead the wedding work of LeGrand the Florist one day. Today the LeGrand tradition continues in a different fashion as LeGrand Weddings & Events By Lisa. With the guidance of her father, Mark LeGrand, you can now have “Flowers worth remembering for all of life’s celebrations.”
